The BIG Boxing Move & How To Donate So what is The Big Boxing Move? In a nutshell it is a move of the gym to a much larger space within its current mill location. The demand for our charity offer has exceeded our current capacity to safely engage the groups we work with and with a waiting list of future users and beneficiaries. The number if young people who train with us has also reached its safe limit yet we want to help train even more so we don't have to turn anyone away especially those who need us most. The new space is currently just that, as you can see from the photographs its a space with a floor a ceiling, walls and windows nothing else yet it offers us the opportunity for a clean slate so to speak to create a gym space which will increase our capacity three fold!! We have obtained a long term lease and agreement to start work once some preliminary work by the landlord has been competed, hopefully by the time you read this work it will have been completed. Our vision can be seen in the architects drawing and includes male and female changing & shower rooms and toilets with areas for sparing, circuit training and gym equipment yet thats not all... we have included an education suite doubling as a chill out room. Whilst we are a boxing gym we are also educators and the move gives us the opportunity to fulfill our aim at providing educational opportunities including boxing, fitness and coaching awards as well as AQA qualifications, life skill coaching, employment or further education sign posting, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and Arts Awards along with life coaching to help young people build a road map working towards their future aspirations. All this comes at a cost in fact a hefty cost in the region of £120,000 of which £100,000 will be needed for the build itself with £20,000 estimated for equipment. Our trustees have been busy with funding applications with gym users organising fund raising activities as well as a SpaceHive donation page of which there is a link below and which we would ask you share, Lancashire County Council has already match funder £7000!!!
